Side effects
- Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
- The following side effects observed during treatment with letrozole are mainly mild to moderate in severity. Most side effects are related to a lack of oestrogen (e.g. hot flushes).
- If you experience weakness, paralysis or numbness in an arm, leg or other part of the body, incoordination, nausea or difficulty speaking or breathing (signs of a brain disorder, such as a stroke),
- If you experience sudden chest pain or shortness of breath or ankle swelling (signs of a heart disorder),
- If you have difficulty breathing, chest pain, loss of consciousness, rapid heartbeat, a bluish discolouration of the skin or sudden pain in an arm or leg (foot) (signs of a possible blood clot),
- If you have swelling and redness along a vein that is extremely tender or painful to the touch,
- If you have a severe fever, chills or mouth ulcers due to an infection (low white blood cell count),
- If you experience severe, persistent blurred vision,
contact your doctor immediately.
